CardVal — help & frequently asked questions
Need a hand with CardVal? The quickest way to reach us is email:
shrish@cardval.app.
We aim to reply within 1–2 business days. You can also use
Settings → Send Feedback inside the app.
Scanning
- A card won't scan. Make sure the card is well lit, flat, and fills most
of the frame. Glare from sleeves or toploaders is the most common culprit — tilt the card
slightly so the light doesn't reflect straight back at the camera.
- The wrong card was identified. Rescan with the full card in frame.
If it keeps happening with a specific card, email us a photo of it — that helps us
improve recognition.
- I hit a scan limit. Free accounts include a daily scan allowance that
resets every 24 hours. CardVal Pro removes the wait and unlocks auto-scanning.
Prices
- Where do prices come from? Prices reflect current market data and are
refreshed regularly. They're estimates to guide you — always check live listings before
buying or selling.
- A price looks wrong. Check that the variant and condition match your
card — a Reverse Holo and a regular print can differ a lot. Still off? Email us the card
name and set and we'll look into it.
Account & collections
- Do I need an account? No — you can scan and browse as a guest with limits or as a paid guest without limit.
An account (Apple or Google sign-in) is needed to save cards into collections so they
sync and stay safe.
- How do I delete my account? In the app, go to
Profile → Delete Account. This permanently removes your account and all
associated data. You can also email us and we'll do it for you.
Subscriptions & billing
- Managing or cancelling CardVal Pro. Subscriptions are billed by Apple.
To cancel, open your device's Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions,
choose CardVal, and tap Cancel. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
- Restoring a purchase. If Pro isn't showing after a reinstall or on a
new device, use Restore Purchases on the sign-in screen.
- Refunds. Purchases are processed by Apple, so refund requests go
through them at reportaproblem.apple.com.
